Overview

TaskAlarm - Reminders for Google Tasks™ ("TaskAlarm", "we", "our") is a Google Workspace Add-on developed as an independent product. TaskAlarm is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Google Tasks™ is a trademark of Google LLC.

Data We Access

TaskAlarm requests access to the following Google services solely to deliver its core reminder functionality:

• Google Tasks — read-only access to retrieve your task titles and due dates in order to schedule reminders.

• Gmail (send only) — used exclusively to send reminder emails to your own email address. TaskAlarm cannot read your existing email.

• Your email address — used to identify your account and to check your subscription status (see "License Verification" below).

TaskAlarm does not request or use access to Google Calendar, your Drive, your contacts, or the contents of your inbox.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your reminder settings — including the alert times you set for each task — are stored within your own Google account using Google Apps Script's native PropertiesService. These settings are tied to your account and are not transmitted to TaskAlarm or sold to anyone.

License Verification

TaskAlarm offers a free plan and a paid "Pro" plan. To determine which plan applies to you, TaskAlarm sends your Google account email address to our licensing service (hosted on Supabase) to check whether an active subscription exists for that email. This check transmits only your email address — never your task content, your reminder times, or any other information. The result (whether your account is active) is cached temporarily on your account to reduce repeated lookups.

Payments

TaskAlarm uses Stripe to process Pro subscription payments. Stripe's privacy policy governs any payment information you provide during checkout. TaskAlarm never receives or stores your payment card details. When a payment succeeds, our licensing service records that the email address used at checkout has an active subscription — this is how your Pro status is recognized. For Pro to activate correctly, the email you use at Stripe checkout should match the Google account you use with TaskAlarm.

Data We Do Not Collect

TaskAlarm does not collect, store, transmit, or sell:

• Your task content or titles

• The contents of your email

• Any personally identifiable information beyond the email address used for account identification and license verification

Data Retention and Deletion

Your reminder settings are stored in your own Google account and are removed when you uninstall TaskAlarm. If you have purchased Pro and would like the license record associated with your email address deleted from our licensing service, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
